You Booked Your Session… What’s Next?

What’s next, you ask? Take a look at my process below!

Mini sessions are usually pretty self explanatory, and sports sessions… well, as long as the uniform is as white as mom could get it, we’re already off to a great start! But if you’re preparing for family photos, portraits, or a custom session, please take a moment to review the important information below to help you fully prepare for your session experience.

My Process

STEP 1 — Booking Confirmation

Once your session is officially booked, you will receive a confirmation and I will personally reach out to confirm all session details including the date, time, location, outfits, and overall vision for your shoot.

STEP 2 — Session Planning

This is where we bring your ideas to life! You can browse the inspiration pages, choose locations, backdrops, props, and share any additional ideas you may have. Questions are always welcome during this process.

STEP 3 — Get Session Ready

Before your session, make sure outfits are ironed and ready, grooming is completed, and all props or sports equipment are packed. Arrive on time and camera-ready to make the most of your session experience.

STEP 4 — Session Day & Gallery Delivery

On session day, relax, trust the process, and have fun! After your session, your images will be professionally edited and delivered through a private online gallery where you can download and enjoy your memories.

Tips to Prepare

MAKEUP

For sessions requiring makeup, I highly recommend wearing slightly more makeup than you normally would for everyday wear. Camera lighting and editing can soften makeup appearance, meaning the “no makeup” makeup look may not always show well in photos. Soft glam or natural enhanced makeup typically photographs beautifully while still looking like you. If possible, avoid overly shiny products and remember that lashes, filled brows, and even skin tones can make a huge difference on camera.

ATTIRE

Your outfit choices play a huge role in the final look of your images. Please make sure all clothing is ironed or steamed before arriving to your session, as wrinkles are very noticeable in photos and can be difficult to remove during editing. Be sure outfits fit comfortably, are clean, and coordinate well if multiple people are involved. Don’t forget shoes, socks, accessories, jewelry, and sports equipment if needed. Neutral tones, solid colors, and simple patterns often photograph best, but most importantly, wear something that makes you feel confident and comfortable.

SELF CARE

Getting plenty of rest the night before your session can truly make a difference in your photos. A well-rested face appears more refreshed, energized, and natural on camera. Staying hydrated, moisturizing your skin, grooming facial hair, getting haircuts a few days beforehand, and taking time for personal care can all help you look and feel your best. Most importantly, come relaxed, confident, and ready to enjoy the experience. Genuine smiles and good energy always shine through in your images.
